A Course in Miracles teaches that we are not our bodies. While this is true, it can be tempting to take this teaching and unintentionally misuse it. We might think that we need to detach ourselves from our bodies and from others, but this only leads to unhealthy denial. Instead, we awaken THROUGH the body when it is repurposed by Spirit.
In A Course in Miracles, there is a quote in the Urtext and CE editions that references the 20th century psychic and astrologer, Jeane Dixon. In the Course, it says, “Actually, Jeane Dixon was right in her emphasis on “Feet on the ground & fingertips in the Heaven”… Many people knew exactly what she meant, so her statement was the right miracle for them.”
In light of my recent mystical experiences, which were very much facilitated by having my “feet on the ground,” I share five points about what this Jeane Dixon quote means to me.

QUOTES MENTIONED:
“Actually, Jeane Dixon was right in her emphasis on “Feet on the ground & fingertips in the Heaven,” though she was a bit too literal for your kind of understanding. Many people knew exactly what she meant, so her statement was the right miracle for them.”
You can find this quote in the ACIM Urtext on page 43 or in the CE edition page 36.
CORINNE’S TAKEAWAYS:
- The more I’ve come back into my BODY, the more opportunities I’ve had to heal the MIND.
- The ego hides trauma in the body.
- My theory: While it is not a mistake that we have ACIM, maybe we received it before we were fully ready due to the celestial speedup. So if there are areas of our lives that haven’t been healed by the Course, keep an open mind for the Holy Spirit to direct you to a healing modality that may be helpful for you, whether it is within the Course framework or not.
- To have your feet truly on the ground you have to be willing to process emotions.
- The stronger the tree roots, the wider the canopy. The more you get grounded, the more your intuitive channels can open up.

This is powerful. I love witnessing your growth!
Thank you Danielle! Your support means so much to me.
OMG CORINNE! I’M STUDYING EPI-GENETICS RIGHT NOW!! I seriously just stumbled onto this topic a few weeks ago on YouTube. It intrigued me so much, and as a result, I ordered a set of tuning forks that help bring our epigenetic DNA structure into a new, higher frequency. I ordered them through Soma Energetics (sound, science, spirit). Interestingly, after my purchase I discovered that the founder is a Course student!
The tuning forks are supposed to help support positive changes (in both our physical and energetic body) as we practice our spirituality and move into more positive, loving thinking. Frequency and sound have been found to be intricately linked with thought – which is why chanting or listening to a meditation can have such profound effects.
So cool to hear you bring this up my beloved sister-in-Light!!
Love you!!

How come I’m not surprised to hear this, Beth? 🙂 I love the synchronicities and similarities that show up for us. What you’re exploring sounds so cool! I’ll have to check it out. Thank you so much for sharing. Love you too! xoxoxo
Hi Corinne; Thank you for having the courage to talk about these topics, which may seem almost “taboo” in the Course community. The Course can be very intellectual unless we can process the information with our hearts – the Holy Spirit. And the idea of being “premature” with the Course resonated with me. I know that Spirit can lead me into a genuine and lasting experience of Self as I continue to trust but thanks for opening the doors to the idea of other healing modalities that can assist us on our journey.
Really great Corinne! And wonderful comments so far. Thank you! I resonate with everything you said. In the What is the Body section of the Workbook on page 1437 in the CE edition it tells us: “The body is a dream….But we can change the purpose which the body will obey by changing what we think that it is for. THE BODY IS THE MEANS BY WHICH THE SON OF GOD RETURNS TO SANITY….The Son of God extends his hand to reach his brother, and to help him walk along the road with him. Now is the body HOLY. NOW IT (the body) SERVES TO HEAL THE MIND…. I also just came across this quote from Lesson 267 where it says: “Peace fills my heart, and floods my body with the purpose of forgiveness”.
I love that you found EMDR helpful and I have found EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping a really effective energy therapy. It too teaches that we hide our traumas in the body and as we tap on energy meridians that follow the same path as the body’s nervous system we can calm the nervous system and clear and process those deep emotions. Working with an EFT Practitioner or other energy/body healer can be really helpful when emotions are intense – the Course tells us we don’t want to see it!
I was introduced to a book recently called Anxiety RX by Dr. Russell Kennedy that I feel is extraordinary because he happens to use a lot of familiar words to the course like separation and perception and love! He says all anxiety is alarm and all alarm is separation alarm. For us ACIM students there can be no greater alarm than believing we have separated from our very Source. This alarm is always being triggered. The remedy is to get out of our heads and find the alarm in the body in order to heal the alarm and the mind through awareness and compassion. I think this is a must read for anyone doing any form of healing work. Interestingly enough I recently found this quote from Lesson 167 in the Workbook on page 1284: “In this world there appears to be a state that is life’s opposite. You call it death…..It is the one idea which underlies all feelings that are not supremely happy. It is the ALARM to which you give response of any kind that is not perfect joy.”
Happy New Year!
