From 2008 to 2013, Manasquan, NJ and the surrounding towns were shaken to their core by what is regarded as one of the worst suicide clusters in the United States. At least 10 lives were lost during this time, all teens or young adults.

In 2010, a group of concerned community members got together with the desire to offer hope and healing those who were affected by these tragic suicides, and for parents who were terrified that their son or daughter may be the next victim. The Samaritan Center was officially formed.

The Samaritan Center is a non-profit organization that provides counseling to people of all ages, all faiths, and all backgrounds. Each year they have a fundraiser luncheon supported by individuals and local businesses, and it was a deep honor to be the guest speaker this year.

About 230 people filled the sold out room, and when I asked people to raise their hands if they know someone who has been affected by anxiety or depression, every single hand went up.

In this talk I share the depths of my anxiety story and the steps I took to find complete recovery. Anxiety falls away when you begin to remember your True Self.

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts, please call 911, go to your local emergency room, or call the suicide prevention lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or visit: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

You are worth the effort it takes to heal.
