“I AM SO. STRESSED. OUT.” While my husband was at work and listened to me complain on the phone, I sat in my parked car in front of my house, too cold to be out in my yard, unable to work with no internet and feeling displaced as workers filled my house with the smell of mold remediation chemicals. UGH!

The ego LOVES mold, haha!

But a wonderful miracle was about to occur.

For every event the ego brings forth to keep us fixated on the level of form, Spirit can use it to help us wake up.

And stressors are no exception!

Thank goodness A Course in Miracles has a much different view of stress than the way we tend to think of it. Stress provided a grand opportunity for healing and remembering the Truth (instead of me remaining a stressed out mess!). In this episode, I’ll share an awesome ACIM teaching on stress. You can immediately apply these principles and repurpose your stress for healing.

The quote from A Course in Miracles:

“Self-esteem,” in ego terms, means nothing more than that the ego has deluded itself into accepting its reality and is therefore temporarily less predatory. This “self-esteem” is always vulnerable to “stress,” a term which really means that a condition has arisen in which the delusion of the ego’s reality is threatened (p. 162 in the CE edition; also see T-4.II.6:8 in the FIP edition)

Here are the steps for you to play with when repurposing your stressors:

  1. Notice ANY stress or lack of peace that you feel.
  2. Feel your feelings!
  3. Set the goal to repurpose the stress. The goal is NOT to avoid stress by avoiding your life! See it as a RED FLAG telling you it’s time to straighten out your perception. Say “I am willing to repurpose this stress.”
  4. FEEL that the stressful feeling is just your ego is being threatened. FEEL that this stress means you’re simply identified with your small “s” self.
  5. Bring your identification with your small “s” self to Spirit.
  6. Ask for help in remembering who you REALLY are.
  7. Bring your mind back to the Truth. Your mind is not a separate mind. Your mind is part of One Eternal Loving Mind of our Source.

One final takeaway:

The small “s” self, the ego, is ALWAYS vulnerable to STRESS because the small self is not true! You are not a small self. You are the holy Son of God himself (as are all of us), and it’s time to claim the truth about yourself.
