I used to repeatedly give my fears, beliefs, and perceptions over to Spirit within (our Inner Teacher) in order to receive a miracle (a shift in perception) instead. However, there is a section in A Course in Miracles that used to bug me. That section is “Should Healing Be Repeated?” in the Manual for Teachers. Quite simply, the answer is “NO” because once you invite Spirit in, the answer is immediately given. Our task then becomes to TRUST regardless of outside appearances.
In this video, find out a simple way to determine if you’re truly ready to hand over an issue to your Inner Teacher for good. And if you’re not, it becomes an opportunity to look at your lack of trust WITH Spirit in order to invite healing in.
We all learn from each other. If this video resonated with you share your insight by leaving a comment below!
Thank you…..a great reminder and tool…..
Thanks Tricia – many blessings!
Hi beloved one(s)… I think I must confess that as long as I want to watch other people on the internet – and hear their takes on ACIM – (and you ARE lovely !) I’m not willing to give up the idea of being a BODY…And so, I must watch (and NOT judge) THAT with the Holy Spirit..and take the time till I’m willing to give up the body… Bless(ed) us all…
Hi Bente –
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, that is perfect: Looking at (and not judging) unwillingness to give up the idea of being a BODY is definitely something to look at with Holy Spirit. As we have experiences that show us we’re something more than a body, the idea that we might not be a body becomes easier to accept. It is wonderful that you are being kind to yourself and not trying to force anything. It is important to fully accept wherever you/we are at in our learning. Many blessings!
Beautiful and useful video, Corinne. I am going to use this practice. I am so grateful for your work. I first heard you on Lisa Natoli’s Unity.FM radio show and I love you and your work!
Thank you Mary! I love you too! This practice has been really helpful to me so I hope you find it helpful too. xo
Love this!! The One mind continues to amaze me as this lack of Trust is something that’s recently come up for me, and then here’s your video, HA!….. This is so perfect Corinne, thank you ?
Love it, Kath! Everything is SO orchestrated and it is all the more reason to trust!! xo
Thank you for providing what’s sure to be helpful; expounding on this healing verse with an introspective practice. I have relied on these words often, and yet we know there is a tendency to say, “I got this” on other issues. So these are the ones that go in the box to be revealed with Holy Spirit before release. Nice to meet you, Corinne. Fellow Course Companion and Lisa Natoli student ~ Gwen
Hi Gwen! So nice to meet you! It’s so funny to watch the mind and see how we are willing to hand some things over but not other things that we’d rather “fix” ourselves. It’s such a relief to finally realize that we can give it ALL over and don’t have to carry around even one single burden. Thank you for such great insight – and I love Lisa Natoli too! 🙂 xo
Hi Corrine,
I’m very new to all of this ACIM, but I have been practicing spirituality for a long time. I like you used to (wow, great words) have health anxiety. Well, I don’t HAVE it, but it’s my Ego’s experience- haha. Anyways, whenever I get sensations like you used to, I can fixate on it even though in my truth I know I am okay. You are saying that once you ask for a healing to not ask again. But what do you do about repetitive thoughts? I have been, every time I have a negative or Ego thought, been saying mentally “I am willing to see this differently, I’m giving Thai to my inner teacher and spirit so I can receive the miracle” and sometimes I’ll get a message and sometimes it will just alleviate the anxiety and I’ll go on with what I’m doing. But the next time a similar thought comes up, I do the same. Is that what I’m supposedly to do until I’ve developed trust further? My question is that my brain in analyzing if I’m “doing this right” or letting go correctly. All I know is that when I ask to se it differently, I feel better- even if I’m doing that hundreds of times a day, it’s better than getting wrapped up in the cycle of anxiety. Any comments or advice? Sorry if my question was confusing! 🙂
Hi Kayla!
Thanks so much for this awesome question. It’s not confusing and I totally get it! You’re totally right that this is totally about the development of trust. Right now we’re accepted the ego’s voice and we’re learning to place our trust in Spirit instead. We might intellectually know that we’re OK in Truth, but here in this dream of duality, we don’t REALLY know that or we wouldn’t be worried in the first place!
Like you, I used to find a lot of helpfulness in repeating phrases that took me OUT of the anxiety cycle (e.g. “Take this from me”, “I want a miracle instead”, etc.). There’s certainly nothing wrong with this as we are literally building a new habit of turning to Spirit instead of the ego’s well entrenched habit of anxiety. I found a lot of comfort in repeatedly asking for help, and I’m glad to hear it helps you too! So what you’re doing is perfect with those pesky repetitive thoughts.
There also comes a point when we’ll be ready to take our trust to the next level. The Course says that healing does not need to be repeated. Once we ask for help, the miracle is there, waiting to be accepted by us. It’s this point where we can dig our heels in, say “NO” to the ego’s incessant fearful voice, and place our lives in the Hands of Love. We can simply accept that the miracle has been given and we need not worry anymore. We’ll know when we’re ready for this.
Also, if you haven’t already seen my post on dealing with intense fear, it might be helpful too: https://fromanxietytolove.com/how-to-deal-with-intense-fear/
I hope that helps! Let me know if I can clarify further. xo
Thanks so much for the response! Your answer did help to clarify for sure! I’m still in the process of developing that trust so while I’m doing that repeating those phrases and handing it over feels MUCH better than Ego. I’m finding this blog incredibly helpful and find myself re-reading or re-watching videos when my Ego is trying to speak loudly. What would you suggest as a good phrase or prayer in terms of trying to “forget” things I’ve researched in the past (i.e my cycle has been to have a symptom and research and have awful possibilities pop up online. I searched about a month ago something that REALLY triggered me and that trigger has been hard to let go of in my mind and my Ego brings it back often). Though, I’m happy to reveal that I haven’t internet researched in a few weeks which is amazing for me! Thank you for your response and the work you do. It is sooooo helpful and I can’t wait to be where you are one day! 🙂
Hi Kayla!
Ahh… I SO relate because Googling symptoms used to FREAK ME OUT!! I learned very quickly that internet searches are a perfect mirror… it will show you what you’re looking for! So if the fearful mind is afraid of a horrible disease, that’s exactly what will show up. I totally commend you for refraining from internet searches! I swore them off long ago. 🙂
Check out Lesson 14 in A Course in Miracles. It has one of the BEST phrases that have been helpful to me… “God did not create it, and so it is not real.” The lesson prompts you to get VERY specific about your fears. You so you can plug in whatever was triggering for you: “God did not create ____, and so it is not real.”
You are safe in Love. Nothing can touch your perfect innocence and shining Light. Love you sister!
Thank you!!!! I SO appreciate it. I even just feel better knowing someone understands exactly what I go through! Yes, I am totally safe always in Love. I will continue with that and once I receive the workbook I will look at that specific lesson! Sounds very helpful. I am hoping to join the Sunday night calls one of these times – sounds like a great group! 🙂 Thank you again! xoxo
Yes, I’ve totally been there!! 🙂 We’d love to have you on the study group calls! They’re SO FUN!! xoxo
