On the night of the Trump election, I awoke at 3:30am and learned of the results. I was flooded with fear and thought I might actually have a panic attack for the first time in seven years. Luckily, this didn’t happen because I turned to Spirit within and asked for thoughts that could help me not only find my peace, but ultimately help heal the world.
Fear keeps us locked in our current perceptions. Fear shrinks the mind so the mind will fixate on the external picture. If A Course in Miracles teaches that “only love is real,” I knew I (along with the world) desperately needed a new perception.
The following video is an excerpt of a special ACIM Study Group session I was called to facilitate shortly after the election. In this excerpt, I share some of the hard-core teachings of A Course in Miracles that helped me shift my perception around the election. Because of these teachings I was able to return to peace. But this isn’t a pacifist-like peace. This is a peace that comes with an utter commitment to wholly dedicate myself to undoing fear in all of its forms.
This video is a call to DO NO THING APART FROM Spirt. It is a call to commit yourself to Love more deeply than you ever thought you could. It is a call to listen to the Voice of Spirit within, and no longer choose to listen to the voice of the ego.
I HIGHLY recommend that you download the audio recording of the ENTIRE study group call which is 1 hour and 40 minutes long. The participants’ shares were incredible. You can access this special study group call in the archives by signing up for the call/archive details HERE.
In the meantime, enjoy this excerpt from the call in which I share the mind-straightening principles of A Course in Miracles. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment on the blog below. I love you.
Wonderful! Thank you SO MUCH for this! Much more positive and true to ACIM than some well-know teachers in response to the election. Bravo
I’m glad you found it helpful Cindy. Much love to you!
I was so happy to get your email announcing this post-election event; I, too, was quite upset at the outcome. For me, the most healing thing was the email itself, oddly, though the program was very good and helpful, too. The mere fact that you were responding to and understanding how we feel–how deep the pain–was itself healing. I couldn’t even look at the news again for two days after the election. I am grateful for your work, for your presence.
I am grateful for you too, Ellen. The work you are doing helps us all. Thank you! xo
Thank you for this, Corinne! I too awoke at 3:30am and experienced similar emotions. Feels like it was meant to happen and being a student of Emily Bennington’s has brought me to you! Xo
Hi Kris! So many of us were awakened early in the morning. There are no mistakes! So happy to be sharing the journey with you. xo
